It’s not hard to see the good in this world — you just have to know where to look. Take the corner of Northeast 140th Place and 100th Avenue Northeast in Kirkland, for example, where Angela Maccarrone can now freely and safely get in and out of her home thanks to a new wheelchair access ramp built free of charge by builder company Lochwood-Lozier Custom Homes. The ramp was donated as part of an annual event called Rampathon, during which volunteers from the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish counties donate their time and skills to build ramps for Puget Sound residents in need.

On May 20 four recipients had ramps built for them at their homes to help them safely enter and exit. Willie McDonald, who is disabled, had a ramp put in by Huntwood Cabinets. There’s an expression that says you should enjoy the small things in life. Going outside and enjoying a walk on a sunny day, for example. Or getting to work or school and back without assistance or inconvenience. For too many, these tasks are burdensome and dangerous. For a few, getting safely to and from their homes has become downright impossible.

A new report from Zillow says the amount of homes for sale dropped at the fastest speed in almost four years. According to the report, there were about 9 percent fewer homes to choose from nationally this May compared to a year ago. That's one reason home prices continue to climb. "With fewer homes for sale, competition becomes so fierce that people snatch them up quickly, and homes spend less and less time on the market," the report said.

SEATTLE, WA - Maybe this is a great deal. Who really knows anymore? The Puget Sound real estate market is so crazy that just about any house could sell for $1 million, whether it's an ultra-modern 5,000 square-foot box or a boarded-up shack built by a fisherman in 1906. At any rate, if you have a ton of money, this house would probably be pretty great to buy. If you fix the building up, you'd be restoring a piece of Seattle history. Think of the restored woodwork! On the other hand, you could tear it down and build an ultra-modern 5,000 square-foot box with enough windows to see clear to Spokane.

Location, location, location. You may have seen a post making its way around social media this week of a house listing in Seattle for nearly $450,000. That sounds about right for the area, right? Well this house is a bit of a fixer upper. The kind with lots of potential if you invest the time and money. Currently, however, it is shown on the real estate site Redfin in less than perfect condition. The windows are boarded up on the 2 bed, 1 bath 1200 sq.ft. home listed for nearly $450,000.
